WHO WE ARE

As a guild, we prioritize pooling our resources—whether time, experience, or funds—to create opportunities and experiences that benefit us all.

We're not a company providing a service; we're a community built on collaboration; not transactions. Our focus is on fostering meaningful relationships that empower every member to grow, create, and thrive together.

About Us

Our Mission

By removing barriers to participation, we seek to connect and grow a diverse community of clay artists in the eastern Ohio / western Pennsylvania region through public outreach, artist promotion, collaboration, resources and support.

Our Vision

To establish and grow, through cooperation, shared experiences within and around a central cooperative clay studio; a vibrant regional community of clay artists.

Our Story

Founded in 2022 by a small group of potters who were frustrated with the traditional rigidity of clay arts programs, they created the guild to bring people together to share resources, increase accessibility and build a learning community.

Membership

POCG welcomes all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned potters. Whether you're looking to support our community or dive into hands-on experience, we offer numerous ways to get involved.

Studio members benefit from unlimited 24/7 access to our fully equipped facility, a range of instructional and self-guided learning opportunities, and access to our extensive collection of books, resources, and tools. And that's just the beginning—there's so much more to explore!

Introducing
Project: Starfish

In August 2024, the PennOhio Clay Guild took a significant step forward in supporting our mission by acquiring a building to be renovated in downtown New Castle. This expanded facility will serve as the studio for our clay work operations and will offer dedicated workspaces, secure and semi-private artist suites, a retail pottery and supply shop, and an art gallery.

Project: Starfish is our campaign to formally unite our members, focusing their creative energy and efforts on renovating our new space while expanding opportunities for both our members and the local community.
